Once you’ve got your baby animal themed baby shower planned, the last thing left is to decide how you will entertain your guests. Baby shower games are a long held tradition and can be anything from pencil and pen games to silly games. Here are some animal themed suggestions:
Name the baby animal :
Type up a list of animals on a piece of paper Number beside the animals and leave blank. Explain to guests that they need to write down the baby names of that animal. It is a lot harder than they will expect it to be! Here is an example list to start you out:
Lion – cub
Elephant – calf
Monkey – infant
Deer – fawn
Frog – tadpole (or polliwog)
Goat – kid
Goose – gosling
Fish – fry
How long is pregnancy?
Pregnancy for women can feel like forever sometimes. But, in the animal kingdom some animals are pregnant a whole lot longer than nine months. List animals down one side of a piece of paper.
On the other side list the amount of days a typical animal is pregnant. The guests must match the correct animal to the amount of time they are pregnant. Everyone will start feeling sorry for the poor things that are pregnant longer than a year!
Diapering Game:
This is a traditional baby shower game with a twist. The idea is to see who can diaper the baby the fastest, but in this case, guests will rush to diaper their baby animal the fastest. The competition can be between a few volunteers or can be done in rounds. This is a really great one to have the guys do if the shower is co-ed.

Since Mommy doesn’t know whether it’ll be a boy or a girl, try out some of the many old traditions for figuring out the gender of a baby. Guests will be laughing and having a great time trying out these great ideas and sharing their own traditions.
Have an advice tree, give each of the guests a 3×5 card or a note of advice card and ask them to give the new mommy advice on being a parent. They can then hang their advice on the tree
Having a wishing well where guests can put their wishes for the new baby and new mommy.
Baby showers are a wonderful way to celebrate the arrival of a new child in this world. There are so many popular games for baby shower but make the right choice by choosing games that fit the personality of the guests. These games should not involve too much physical activities so that the guest of honor can also be a part of them. Some great ideas for baby shower games can be:
Guess the waist: The basic idea of this game is to make a guess about the size of mommy’s tummy. Now you don’t want to be rude to the mommy so don’t use the numbers to make a guess. The players each cut a piece of yarn approximately the size of their guess and then it is wrapped around the mother’s waist to check. The one with the right guess or closest guess wins the prize.
Mommies and babies: It is a fun general knowledge game. You will have to give a paper and a pencil to each guest and call out the names of some animals. The guests will have to write the baby names of those animals. The one with most correct answers wins.
Guess the baby food: In this delightful tasty game you’ll have to cover a few jars of different flavored baby food. Write numbers on the jars and ask your guests to guess the right flavor by either smelling or tasting the baby food. The winner will be the one with the most right guesses.
Can you dress the baby? You’ll have to do some shopping for this game. A life size baby doll, some baby clothes, diapers, baby creams and powder. The player will have to undress and then dress the baby in the minimum time in order to get the prize. Some people like to add an extra element of excitement by blindfolding the players!
Baby pictures: For this game you’ll have to ask each guest to bring their picture with them. Upon arrival collect those pictures number them and pin them on a board. Ask everyone to write the name of the person with the correct number on a paper. The winner gets the door prize.
